July Dev Log - Closed Beta Changes
Greetings, scientists!
It’s been a bit since our last dev log because we wanted to keep the surprise, but now the Closed Beta is live, and we can share what LithoBreak’s development has been over the last few weeks!
New UI Style
Our UI has seen massive improvements for the release of the Closed Beta, with the new UI style translated to the tablet!
The UI overhaul we started a few weeks ago for the game is now nearing completion, the most recent upgrade being the tablet. Those UI changes mean migrating the game to thinner and sleeker borders, which are nicely complemented by brand new smooth and quick fade transitions between tablet tabs!
Autosave and Save/Load Improvements
After listening to our Discord community’s feedback, we took the time to improve our saving and loading system, and we’re glad to announce it has been radiation-hardened and is now ready for service!
We pushed a lot of standardization efforts in our game development, meaning loading games between versions will be far more reliable. Allowing you to keep growing your mining operations after most game updates without starting over.
Additionally, we implemented a new autosave feature! It will save your game automatically between intervals. Players can customize the interval time and the number of saved files in the game settings.
Settings, you say?
Settings Menu
That’s correct; we have been working hard at adding a fully-fledged settings screen to LithoBreak!
You can find this new Options menu on both the title screen and the in-game tablet, so you can switch settings on the fly if the need arises. This new menu will allow the game to run on a wider variety of devices and should cover most of the screen available to players!
You can also take advantage of the Options menu to rebind your keyboards to something that suits your style better.
Let us know if you’d like to see this added to the mining screen! We are always listening to incoming feedback on our Discord.
Deconstruction & Parts Durability
The latest feature we added to LithoBreak has been a highly requested one: Deconstructing buildings! You can now tear apart buildings you no longer want to make room for another production line or make your base more efficient or aesthetically appealing.
Also, every building will now have a list of all the installed parts, anywhere between 20 and 80 parts per building. As the buildings are used, the HP percentages of the components will slowly drop, and some will need to be replaced! Better materials will lead to higher durability while building parts, and high durability parts will degrade a lot slower. More to come in the next Dev Logs.
Polish to the Moon!
After many hours of hard work, we're glad to say that LithoBreak is looking better than ever! Everything has been revamped, upgraded, or tweaked from the station to the moon to make the game experience as appealing as possible.
Thanks to our awesome alpha testers, gameplay has been improved and is as smooth as it’s ever been.
Next up will be some beta testing! Our Closed Beta session is running strong thanks to our incredible community, and we will share the results and improvements from that feedback in the next Dev Log. But before that, we want to give you all an opportunity to join in on the fun!
Until August 3rd, the Beta will be accessible to everyone through Steam! Head up to:
And join the playtest here! Share your feedback with us on Discord and chat with the devs and the rest of the Beta testers.
